£200 million transit system announced for London Luton Airport

Plans for a state-of-the-art £200 million mass passenger transit (MPT) system linking London Luton Airport (LLA) with Luton Airport Parkway railway station were announced on Friday 15 April by the airport’s owner, London Luton Airport Ltd (LLAL).

The news was a highlight at the launch of Luton’s ambitious and wide-ranging £1.5 billion inward investment programme which outlines a 20-year plan for major transformation of the town and signals how the borough will achieve strong, sustainable and balanced growth and create jobs for local people.

Awards event held to celebrate the successes of local women in business

Local enterprise agency, Wenta, held a celebratory awards event for local business women in Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes on Thursday 10th March at Putteridge Bury, Luton.

The event, held for the second year running, had a great turnout with over 50 people attending. Attendees gathered to celebrate the achievements of local women that have started or grown their business through the ‘Women and Broadband’ scheme – a project funded by the Government (DCMS UK and Broadband Delivery UK) with the support of Luton, Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Councils, to support female entrepreneurs and increase their knowledge of social media and the internet.
